When it comes right down to it, there is one simple reason you look for a counselor: you are stuck and you don't know what to do.

This is painful, scary, frustrating, perhaps full of tears and anxiety. You can feel your energy being drained away in the same old patterns. You know you want something different, but you can't find the path out.

What you want is to find the flow in your life. You know that there will always be challenges, but you are looking for support to meet those challenges with your own clarity, kindness, and wisdom. Above all, you want to be connected to your unique calling and a life of purpose and meaning.

I work with men and women, especially those in their "middle years," who want to grow but are at a painful roadblock and don't know what to do. Perhaps you are overwhelmed by a recent return to school, frightened by a serious illness, grieving the loss of a parent, struggling with the despair of thinking that you aren't enough, or simply experiencing unexplained anxiety or the dullness of wondering if this is all there is in life. 

Regardless of the particular complaint that brings you here, though, you know you are more than your symptoms. You may not know what to do next, but you know you want a change. You are willing to be present to the life you have now, and try on a fresh perspective.
